Prayer for Churches

Lord God,

Father, I pray for churches this morning. I pray for the people that gather together within these buildings. I pray for the men who open your Word week after week. I pray for those who lead worship. I pray for those who love on and care for the babies, the children, and the teens. I pray for hands that clean. For feet that lead. For hearts that pour out. For the ones that pray. For the shoulders that carry the tears that are shed. I pray for the Women who love one another. For the men who hold each other in accountability. For The church that opens its doors for us to gather and Unite and love and live and serve and Worship and grow and stand. Oh, I pray for our churches!

Father, I pray for churches in light of lockdowns. God, this is gross and an abuse of power. Lord, I pray for confident wisdom for these preachers as they make the decision to stand on Biblical truth and American freedom. I pray for the staff of elders and deacons to uphold Scripture as they support and defend the choice to stand, to remain open, to proclaim Scripture, to live in the land of the free and in the home of the brave.

Father, I feel like I’m proclaiming my personal conviction in this prayer, and perhaps I am. But I pray you will take my prayer of personal conviction and pour it out upon the church that is in need of confirmation or encouragement or boldness or strength or comfort.

Lord, we are not called to sit. We are called to serve, to shine your Light in a darkened world. And when our world is setting a precident of fear and separation and silence and darkness and compliance, ugh, my whole heart hurts.

Father God, equip your saints for such a time as this. 2020 was confusing and odd. 2021 is going to prove to be a battle. I firmly believe this. In this, I pray that you will speak with each of your called pastors and leaders and teachers and men and women and youth and churches (your body of Christ) and prepare each and every one of us to know fully where we stand as Christians in today’s world. Tell us what is required of us that we may be ambassadors of the Kingdom of God to the dark world around us.

Lord, I pray these things in the leading of the Holy Spirit.

I pray these words will be cast before Your Throne.

I pray You will hear and respond according to Your will and in Your way.

I pray our hearts and ears will be open to Your leading.

I pray we will all walk in accordance to Your direction.

I pray we will not judge one another for our various actions and convictions.

Rather, I pray we will uphold and support one another knowing that our cities and our audiences and our impact vary.

I pray above all else that the name of Jesus Christ will shine brighter and farther than any of our words or actions or convictions ever could.

All these things are prayed in the sweet name of Jesus,

Forever and always Amen & Amen!

Prayer for President Trump

Heavenly Father,

I know we are not alone at your feet in prayer for President Trump. I know we are all kneeling before you with hearts full of words that are jumbled at your feet. I know that You, Sweet God, hear our every word in perfect clarity and in perfect wisdom.

Father, hear these words right now, I beseech you.

Spiritually. God, fill him and surround him with wisdom and knowledge and understanding. Set his feet on a sure foundation. That his foundation will be the Rock on which we stand, the Rock on which we kneel, the Rock that causes the dark to stumble. The Rock that Hell cannot prevail against.

Unite our prayers over President Trump. Amen.

Physically. God, thank you that he is home so swiftly from his Covid diagnoses. God Almighty, keep his body strong. Regulate his temperature day by day. That your life will sustain his. I pray this over Melania as well. Heal them both through and through. Strengthen them inside and out. Protect, Dear God, their bodies and minds day by day.

Unite our prayers over President Trump. Amen

Socially. God, I pray you will go before his every step. Secure his way in your directive plan for him as he leads our Great Nation. Guide him with surety. Protect his way from encounters that may steer him off course. Keep him upright. I pray his words will be true to who he is. Lord, a “social game” has been played for far too long. In this game, lies and corruption and political appearance have all become the expected mask. I pray that in the light of Your Truth and American truth and in his personal truth of character that this deeply rooted facade will crumble. I pray, Father God, that truth will seep from President Trump’s heart. That his words will speak truth to all who hear. I pray You will go before his steps, before his words.

Unite our prayers over President Trump. Amen

Politically. Father God, the politics of this nation are ever-heated. From the founding of our nation and of our nation’s political parties, it is ever-heated. Passion is good. Differing is good. Learning to listen and grow in unity through our differences can be beneficial to the next generations. However, God is our nation’s foundation. Lord, I pray we as a nation will not step off that foundation. I pray we will not unite with a party that denounces Your name, that refutes Your existence, that defies Your law. God, I pray all politics will be set aside during the uniting of our prayers this very minute as we seek your face in this election for the benefit of our nation’s future on and in You. That our nation will remain One Nation Under God!

Unite our prayers over President Trump. Amen

Amen

What’s Your Word

You fill my heart with such joy. To walk life with you is my favorite blessing. How spoiled am I to call you friend! You are my smile, my world, my everything. I love you.

Don’t you love how the power of words can stir your heart with abundant joy and happiness?!

Here’s my challenge for us this day.

  • Grab a paper and pen or open your notes app.
  • Pen your words. Not the ones you want to say or that you plan on saying, but the ones you just said. Write it down.
  • Learn to hear yourself when you talk.

You know, you won’t be the only one who is listening to what you say today. Your words are being heard all day and by various ears. My challenge is that you add yourself to the list of individuals who are listening to you.

At the end of the day, sit with your list. Reread your words. Note how your heart feels. Consider the emotion that flows through you with each statement. And then decide how built up you feel from your own words.

This will be a great exercise to see how well we build up our people by our words. There are times we speak without consequence. There are times we unknowingly break a heart. There are times we purposely build up another. And there are times our words fly farther and wider than we ever thought possible, good or bad. Do you see how beneficial it would be to become a student of our own word habits?

The Question is: What’s your word?

The Challenge: Write your words.

The Goal: to learn a little more about your speech habits and about your hearer’s heart.

For some this this will be fun. For some it will be difficult. For all it will be an opportunity to grow in love.

Here’s Our Strength for the Day

Ephesians 4:29-32. This passage is our Sword for the day. Let us not simply know the Word of God. Let us use His Word! Perhaps you want to write these verses on the top of your Homework Assignment page. Perhaps you want to memorize a portion of this passage. Or perhaps you want to take these verses to God in prayer before, during and/or after this challenge.

Good luck, have fun, and Happy Word Day to you and yours!

Your Sister,

Jaclyn
