A Morning Praise for the Love of Jesus

Jesus,

You are good. All morning I have been anxious to come to your feet to simply tell you exactly that. It’s funny because my heart has been expressing this truth to you throughout my morning, but there’s something grand about sitting at your feet telling you {in word} how good you are.

You are so faithful. You are mine. You wake me in the morning and whisper truth upon my heart. Lord, what a precious way to wake up. You sing over me as I kickstart my day with my little routine. All the while I hear your worship flood my soul. I postpone my time with you due to “this or that” and you join me in the This and in the That. Reminding me always that you are with me. You are here. You are in the mundane and in the schedule and in the busy and in the calm. Oh, how ever faithful you are! Oh, that you are mine!

You are my Father and I love your faithful love, your strong arms.

You are my God and I love your voice, your words, your truth.

You are my Lord and I cling to your law; I desire to behold your beauty and to obey your commandments of love.

Jesus, that Your love over me will pour out of me. I pray I will not be selfish with your love. I pray I will not be “choosy” with your love. Jesus, I pray your love will fall back at your feet – with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my mind.

Father, what a big command given to us by our Savior! Oh, that my heart, my soul, and my mind will comprehend the beauty of this command!

And, Jesus, I pray your love will lift up the brother and the sister I get to do life with today. Go before my day. Set my heart to speak your words upon them. And open my ears to receive your love from them.

You have given us a family in God. Thank you for this sweet gift of opportune love!

Jesus,

You, my precious Lord, are good.

Amen

What is the Connection in Prayer?

Many of us wonder what the connection is between us and prayer and God and Christ Jesus. We wonder why and how God uses our prayer for the benefit of others. We truly desire to know how prayer is all connected.

Understanding the connection of prayer always begins with knowing Jesus and knowing that prayer begins in and through His precious death and resurrection.

Next to knowing Jesus, it is so important to know your position.

When we know that we are seated at the right hand of the Throne of God, the intimidation to pray or pressure to pray “better” gets washed over with the desire to have a conversation with God.

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:4-6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

In Christ, we are seated beside God. Present tense. Sit quietly with that truth. Selah.

My prayer is that we will grasp the depth of this gift from God. I pray that when we pray (whether on our knees or on our way) that we will see ourselves in our positioned seat beside God Almighty.

  • He is sitting there beside you.
  • He feels the emotions coarsing through you.
  • He sees the posture that is overtaking your body.
  • He hears the quietness of your breathe, your sigh, your cry, your smile, your existence.
God calls us friend. He seats us {always} beside Him. May we have a sweet and sincere conversation with Him there.
  • May we feel His arm around us as we sit in conversation with Him.
  • May we feel His emotions for us as we sit beside Him.
  • May we see His posture as we sit beside Him.
  • May we hear His breathe, His understanding, His Love, His joy, His existence.

Do you see this? Do you understand the depth of this simplicity? Your part in prayer matters. Your prayer life matters. Are you willing to grasp the beautiful power in this truth? My prayer is that we will all see and fully grasp this sweet gift of pure conversation with our God.

Walking together in prayer & truth,

Jaclyn

A Praise for Joy

Father God,

How precious am I in your eyes. I sit here pondering your love for me and over me. In the midst of my thoughts my heart runs over with the fullness of Your joy and acceptance.

Oh, Father God, how greatly I love You in return!

Thank you for the joy you freely flood within my soul. On days where all things are fun and happy and accomplishing and bright, your joy is ever-present. I love that! I relish in that, actually. It is such a beautiful gift that I cherish so sweetly.

On days that are quiet and lonely and frustrating and discombobulated, your joy is still there, ever-present. I treasure that. It is such a comfort to know that despite a shed tear or a taste of disgust, you and your joy are still flowing through me causing me to stand, to take a step, to do the next thing that needs to be done. Oh, Lord, how spoiled am I with your gift of joy!

And Father God, I am at a loss of words when I dwell on your acceptance of me.

Selah.

Prayer Sister, may we ponder God’s acceptance of us as we are today. May we allow our thoughts to understand that Christ died for us while we were yet sinners. May we grasp the reality that we are made new upon the moment of salvation. Yet, we are still living with the same characteristics we were created with. May we give ourselves grace as we renew our mind moment by moment in this process called sanctification. That we allow ourselves to grow and mature over time and not yesterday. May we see the outreach we have to the lost soul around us as we are today. God can use our person “as is.” That is the greatest of His acceptance. There is no lie when God declares, I love you.

Xoxo,

Jaclyn
