Wednesday, Sweet Father, It’s Wednesday

Lord, these days! How comical they are. So very uneventful and redundant and normal. As if each day is simply a day to wake up and live a day. To see the sky, to feel the temperature on our skin, to smile at nature, to listen to the song of a bird.

Lord, the garbage man comes today. I pray for him. I pray protection over his people as he comes home from work each night. Lord, thank you for his essential job. We all are thankful for his continued work. Perhaps we’ll leave him some cookies today.

Lord, I have a pick up at Albertsons today. How excited I am to drive a mile to grab my pickup. Hm. Perhaps, we will take our bikes. It’s not a large order. My son and I can pull up in a pick up spot. That would be fun. Ha. Lord, I pray for my favorite Albertsons employees. Oh, how I love them all. Bless each one of them. Keep them safe as they continue faithful in their work and in the giving of their smiles.

Lord, my son has a day of school with his teachers from Cole. Oh, how thankful we are for his teachers! Lord, I know they miss being with their students as much as these kids miss being with them. Thank you for their daily availability and love.

Lord, my prayer sisters have a day before them. I pray for the schedule that sits before them. Whether their schedule involves a normal day working in their essential occupation or whether it includes staying at home with their people. I pray a smile, Your light, and Your presence deep within their souls. Guide their hands and feet to serve the ones around them. Lead their heart to hold and help the ones in need of their care. Father, open their eyes to the beauty of this day.

Wednesday, sweet Father, it’s Wednesday. Help us to embrace the uneventful, redundant and normal day that sits before us.

Thank you for this Wednesday,

XOXO

The Blanket of Peace

Some Things Are Still The Same

Father God, our days are so new and unknown

Father God, I love you and I thank you for being my God. How spoiled I am to talk to you right now and to know that you are hearing my words, listening to my prayer and holding my heart.

I could write a book of words before you and you would sit with interest the whole time. I could pour a bucket of tears before you and you would treasure each drop, storing them in a bottle. I could sit with you not uttering a single syllable and you, O my God, would understand the depth of my silence.

Father God, I do love you and thank you for being my God.

May I enter your presence hand in hand with my sisters?

May we gather our words, tears and silence and cast them before You?

Will you hold us?

Father God, our days are weird. Each day feels so new, unknown, and unsettled. Our emotions are rollercoastering (for sure my word) with each new announcement, closure, statistic, and regulation.

Lord, we are so accustomed to doing life together and now we are advised to separate ourselves from each other. This is the reality that crushes my heart the most. I think of the women I engage with every Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, and for spontaneous coffee dates throughout each week.

I think of the prayer requests that are shared and prayed over while we are united together. I think of the tears that are held. I think of the laughter that spreads. I think of the rejuvenating breath that occurs for women as they pause in one another’s presence. I think of the joy that spills from Your Scripture and the giggles that erupt from inevitable rabbit trails.

Father God, you gifted us with girlfriends and sisters in Christ. Being socially separated from each other is going to open doors for discouragement, defeat, and depression. Oh God, I pray You will shut those doors! Lord, that they will not even crack open. I pray Your mighty hand will separate Your daughters from any tactic of the devil. Fight for each of Your daughters during these days.

Lord, You promise that Your Word will be evident in our hearts and minds.

~ I pray your grace will abound. (2 Corinthians 9:8)

~ I pray your peace will surpass. (Philippians 4:7)

~ I pray your happiness will overcome. (Psalm 144:15)

~ I pray we will not feel alone for You are ever present for you are our God. (Psalm 46:1)

Father God, we love you and we thank you for being our God.

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. – Hebrews 4:16

A Prayer for Peace ~ by Denise Pass

Simple Prayer for Moms

Father God, Unify My House

What Are You Waiting For?

Father, Take My Absence and Fill it With Your Glory

Heavenly Father, take my absence and fill it with Your Glory. Lord, your grace is present even in the absence of life.

My absence today is minimal. My day got cancelled. It’s a rather minor absence in the realm of absences. So, Lord, I give my day to you. I ask that you will walk with me in Focus and Diligence. And I pray you will pour your presence in me and out of my fingers as I write throughout this day. This is my prayer for me.

My prayer for others is deeper.

Father, you care for each of us as we are and where we are. Thank you. Sweet Father, I think of friends who are facing today with tears in her eyes. I think of a friend who is starting a new journey in recovery. I think of a friend who is catching up on the life you have given her. In each of these situations, there is an absence.

An absence of love, an absence of health, an absence of routine.

Father God, each of these situations are hard. They are hard for the soul who desires to live this day for you despite the missing piece.

Oh, Dear Father, fill that missing piece with your presence! Yes, Father, with your presence.

~ Be there with her.

~ Sit with her.

~ Walk with her.

~ Live by her side.

~ And radiate your glory all around her.

Father, I ask these things for your glory, that your name will be known upon our hearts and by those around us.

In the Name of Jesus Christ we gather together and pray,

Amen
