Leg Day

I smile thinking about the life of these two lovelies, the scars, the journey, the triumphs, the victories. Lord, oh Lord, how you have given me two incredible gifts in these faithful limbs!

Father, you cared for them as they dragged beside/behind me as I practiced using a cane (a cane so lovingly nicknamed Candy by the world’s best 1st grade class). You held them during the wheelchair months that followed.

And then, God, you healed their exhaustion. You erased their twitches and heaviness. God, it was as if you gave me two brand new legs. Legs that could run. God, I ran! I was told running was a lost era in my life. I was told, I was told … words.

Father, this was my reality 14 years ago. God, 14 years.

Selah.

My heart grows quiet.

My words, Their words, fall down at Your Power.

Miracles are recorded in Your Word.

Your Word is Alive today.

With every step my legs smile forth the testimony of Your Power!

Oh, Father! Thank you for the loving gift of legs! God, you formed our legs to kneel so perfectly beside our childhood beds, our marriage beds, our children’s beds, in our prayer closets, and always, Father, at your feet.
