Let’s Pray in the Light

Heavenly Father,

You say whatever is brought into the light becomes light. Lord, as easy as that sounds, there is much vulnerability and honesty required. There is a feeling of insecurity that runs through our veins. There is a battle of readiness that we don’t even want to face. Yet, we long for the light in our area of darkness.

Back and forth we rage.

Lord God,

In Your presence

wrapped in Your love

I pray you will shine your light upon_______________. Father, just saying this truth cause my words to faulter, my heart to skip a beat of regret. I know you are not surprised but I am. I am not used to expressing my inner truths to anyone’s ears, let alone my God’s ears.

Lord, I pray you will settle my thoughts right now. I ask that you will speak truth over my words. Help me to listen to you right now.

Sweet Father, I pray for confidence in this time with you. I know me. I know the cycle that is going to come. I know. Please teach me a new cycle. Help me to rise above what I know and learn a response that is of You. May I grow to be stronger in this area.

Thank you for hearing my words. Thank you for trusting me with yours. And thank you for walking with me. Lord, I feel your forgiveness and confidence. May these two things light my heart, my soul, my day, my path.

Selah.

Let’s Pray for our Fasting Life

Heavenly Father, May I pause for a moment to pray for my Fasting life and for the Fasting lives of my dear friends?

Lord God, will you settle our minds when we hear this word? Will you remove the weighty stipulations that we preconceive each time you call us to fast? Will you fill us with your peace and thanksgiving in place of our self doubt?

Lord, to fast with you is to spend deeper time with you.

May that statement be the starting point of our Fasting Life. May we see your desire for our full attention as an open door to simply…be with You.

All too often, we see Fasting as something too big and unattainable. When, Lord, Fasting is you and me. May we sit in that truth. And, Father, help us to grow in Fasting as we are/where we are. Will you guide our time together? Please teach us what our Fasting Life looks like. May it be more about your words over us and less about “what we can do or not do.” Simply, You.

I pray we will see our Fasting Life as a starting point to hearing your voice. That we will become more familiar with your words for us. And that we will be able to discern your voice above our inner thoughts and above the noise of the world.

Whether we fast with you for one hour or two, whether we spend a half a day or a full day, whether we set weekly dates or monthly, I pray we will practice this intentional time with you so we may know You. Selah.

Above all else, may I say Thank You. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to talk to you about all things and in all ways. Thank you for seeing us as the individual daughters that we are. Thank you for not being a God of expectations and obligations but of freedom and of love. And thank you for always drawing us into your arms, into your thoughts, and before your Throne.

It is before you that I pray for Fasting today.

Amen

Because Jesus

May we celebrate what we have because Jesus.

Because Jesus came we have a choice. No longer confined to the life choices circling us every day. We are offered a choice that settles and calms and rationalizes and comforts and guides and secures all other choices.

Because Jesus came we have life. No longer continuing down the side roads of uncertainty. We are accompanied by a Best Friend down a straight path in which He guides our feet and sets our eyes.

Because Jesus we are free. No longer bound by the various chains of sin and doubt. We are free! Free to life everlasting! Free to Live in the fullness of love and grace day by day! Free to laugh, to absorb the good around us and walk away from the weight that brings us down. We are free to speak the Name above all names. We are free to stand. We are free to proclaim Truth. We are free to share the Way.

We are free to Live Because Jesus!

Lord God,

Oh, how we thank you for You! Thank you for the gifts you so freely and graciously give us. For the gift of salvation, the gift of baptism, the gift of the Spirit, the gift of His fruits, the gift of marriage, the gift of friends, the gift of family, the gift of being a member of the very Body of Christ.

Lord, you have given us so much!

Father, I pray for these gifts that are set before us. Lord, if one of these gifts are sitting before us, yet we have yet to receive it or open it or declare it or use it or enjoy it… Oh, Father, open our eyes today!

I pray, if it be the gifts of salvation or baptism, my friend will give to you their acceptance of your gift this Christmas season. I pray they will choose to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. I pray they will choose to follow you and identify with you in baptism.

I pray that we will determine today to walk in the Spirit. May we relish in His fruit. Not in that we are fake with putting on the image of patience and love and joy, but that we are real in the image of God in us. Help us to understand the presence of the Holy Spirit and how beautifully and powerfully real He is in us!

I pray for the gifts of marriage and of friends and of family. Father God, this differs for each us. Father, hear our cries, tears, prayers, desires, smiles and praises! Hold our hearts in these areas of life. Give us the daily bread we need per “these gifts” and help us to enjoy the day at hand.

And I thank you for allowing us to be a part of the Body of Christ! Lord, how deeply unique we all are. Yet, in your Name we are knit together as intricately as the human body. Each of us so vital, so valued, so loved and so called by You!

I can hardly comprehend your Gifts to us! Selah

Because Jesus is in my heart, my hands are open wide to receive the gifts of today! I lay it, all of it, before you. May my gift be a smile on your heart.

Jesus, I love you!
