Freedom in Christ Bible Study

Welcome to week one of a new fall series, Freedom in Christ. These next few weeks I will be studying Freedom in Christ as pertaining to very specific topics. I would be honored if you would join me in a sweet study of His gift of freedom. Each Friday I will share a simple truth and a short video lesson that connects that simple truth to Scripture.

You can view the full Freedom In Christ outline here…

I look forward to walking together with you in Scripture and truth,

Jaclyn

Free To Be You ~ Week One

Simple Truth:

You. What a powerful word at times. A lost word. A negative word. A word with a past, a story, a shadow of what was. A word so uniquely set apart. A word too big to comprehend.

You. Designed meticulously by the Creator. Breathed in the breath of life. Loved to the point of Sacrifice. Cared for by the presence of the Holy Spirit. Forgiven by the blood. Washed by the Spirit. Renewed. Whole. Holy. Pure. You.

You. What would your ten truths say about you? Could you/would you take the time to write ten things about you as seen by the Father? You were given you to take care of, to know, and to grow. Will you consider becoming a student of you?

Consider: How well do you know you? Do you know how to see who you are through the eyes of God? Can you say, β€œI am knit together by Him.” Can you say, β€œmy weaknesses are boast worthy, for His glory shines upon them.”

Challenge: Study yourself. In kindness, pay attention to who you are in the eyes of the very One who created you, loves you, and is cheering you on to growth and strength and success. (Joshua 1)

Scripture:

~ Psalm 139:13

β€œFor you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.”

~ 2 Corinthians 12:9

β€œBut he said to me, β€œMy grace Is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

My prayer is that we will all find freedom in the person He created us to be, uniquely and beautifully. Be confident in who you are, for you are His!

Prayer for Virtual Academics

Father God,

School starts today for many kids in my valley. That sentence alone is filled with a bucket full of emotions and truths. Lord, you know them all. You are hearing and seeing the emotions and truths spilling forth from city to city as Virtual Academics start for kids day by day.

Lord Jesus, my words are falling short as I lift up these sweet kids. From Preschool to College, these kids are sitting alone in front of a screen, learning. Oh, Lord, you hear the unspoken words of our hearts, you hear the verbal cries from our lips, you see the posture of our children. Selah

In my perception, I fall on my knees asking that school can press forward with children engaged with one another, growing together in knowledge and life. Learning how to walk together through trials and smiles. Learning how to conquer the hardships of life united together, stronger. Father, this is my perception. You see a scene too grand for my eyes to behold. You know the intricate part of our society that we cannot attain. You have declared the end story, for Jesus will return.

~ May we set our eyes on this truth as we live today with our children.

~ May we keep before us the promises of Scripture as we purpose to raise our children today.

~ May we breathe in your presence and breathe out your love upon our sons and daughters.

Encourage our hearts, Father, so we can encourage our kids in sincerity and truth.

And Father may I pray for the sincere sound of laughter to ring from each of our kid’s hearts today. Laughter, I feel, is being set aside as we stress about our “Adulting”. We need laughter. Our kids need laughter. You designed this sweet sound of a joy filled heart and called it medicine. Remedy our sorrows and stress and weight of 2020 with your healing.

Father, we love you and we thank you for loving our children as you love us. Shine your love within our homes/their schools today!

In the power of the Name of Jesus we pray,

Amen.

*** Psalm 126:2 “Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”

*** Proverbs 17:22 “A joyful (merry, cheerful) heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

Prayer for Children

Father,

Allow me just a quick minute to thank you for these children you have given us. Father, these days (at times) feel long, but the years, Sweet Father, are too short. I pray we will pour into them the love You faithfully pour into us. Help us to model Your love and kindness freely.

Father, I pray for wisdom and direction over their next steps. Every age comes with a newness of uncertainty. I pray we will know (per child) how to point them, lead them, guide them, and walk with them. Help us to know with full certainty how to light their next step. For that to happen, we need such confident wisdom. Father, pour knowledge into us as we make these decisions.

Father, as I sit here with you this very moment, I think of girlfriends who are at Your feet on behalf of their adult children. Prayer requests that have been shared with me regarding diagnoses, divorce, deployment, direction and addiction. God, You know the names, the hearts, the stories and the path of each of these prayers. And many more. Father, we gather together now to ask that You make their paths straight! Be the light that guides their every step!

Father, there are those of us who are still in the process of raising these blessed gifts. My heart pauses before You. Selah. Lord God, to train up our child to become the man or woman You designed them to be without allowing them to be scarred by the chaos that is overtaking our world seems too big for me to process right now. Oh Lord, here is my prayer, Lord God, guide me in creating within my son a heart for You and Your Word. Amen!

Father, lastly, I think of my girlfriends whose bellies, hearts and arms are full of new life. Lord God, thank you for the beautiful and miraculous gift of new life! I pray an abundance of joy and laughter upon these new mommas. Hear their quiet pondering, settle their internal dialogue, rest their fears or anxieties, and set their eyes on the Little one who is setting their eyes on the one thing they know, their mom. Connect their two hearts toward one another. And again, explode such joy and laughter all around them!

Sweet Father, thank you for these children that You have trusted us to love and raise for Your glory, for Your honor, for Your purpose and for our enjoyment. What a sweet gift You have created.

And thank you for calling me Your child,

Amen.
