Prayer For Our Nation

Almighty Creator,

Do you hear my stomach as faithfully as you hear my words?! I wonder this as I fast alongside a nation of prayer warriors. I wonder if you smile at our sounds and at our random food thoughts. I wonder if you sit in contemplation over the thoughts and battles and determination that resides within us during our times of prayer and of fasting. I wonder, God, how precious we are in your sight as we fight on our knees.

Lord, how I love to use my words to magnify Your Name! What a cherished gift You have given to us. The gift of words. The sound of our voice. The proclamation of praise. Yes, such sweet gifts!

Dear Lord, I pray for hope to set ablaze in each of our hearts.

Father God, I have a request to lay at your feet.

Will you revive our American soil? Lord, as I say that, my heart smiles knowing that You already are. Revival is spreading across our nation! We hear the song, we see the baptism, we testify of Salvation! Coast to coast, you are setting a revival in our land.

So, Lord, my question is deeper still.

Will you Drain the Swamp that has rooted itself so deeply in our soil? Yes, I think that is the pinpoint of my prayer. Yet, even as I cast this request at your feet, I see the fruit of your handiwork in this too. Lord, as dark as the infestation is, Your light is shining powerfully upon the darkness! I feel like “it” got too big for their own good. As if they think they are unstoppable. As if they are in full control. As if they won.

Lord, my heart almost giggled at those last sentences. As if I know the full story. As if I know the Truth. For I do, I know You, the infinite Way, the Almighty Truth, the everlasting Life.

Father, I pray in all my boldness before Your Throne, please stop the ones who think they are unstoppable. Right now, lay your right hand upon their heads. Speak Your decree upon them today. That each and every one of them will have no choice but to declare You as the Victor! That they may taste and see Your goodness! That they may know that You alone are God! {Psalm 85}

Jesus, may I pray so boldly and specifically, perhaps selfishly? Lord God, will you lead the path for President Trump’s return as President of our United States of America?! Will You keep him in the White House without him having to miss a beat? Lord, our nation has witnessed You doing SO much for the integrity and character of our foundation through Trump’s leadership.

You have built a wall of defense around this man as he daily stood for our nation’s protection, both within and without our border. The world is remembering who we are. We were remembering who we are. We are the land of the free. We are the home of the brave. We are Americans. And we are proud to be! For in our American pride, we kneel humbly in Your Sovereignty.

God, this is my pointed prayer. Pave our path quickly and powerfully back under the leadership of President Trump, of Vice President Pence, of the people, and of Your Mighty Name!

Before Your Throne and at Your feet,

Amen

Freedom in Christ Bible Study

Welcome to week one of a new fall series, Freedom in Christ. These next few weeks I will be studying Freedom in Christ as pertaining to very specific topics. I would be honored if you would join me in a sweet study of His gift of freedom. Each Friday I will share a simple truth and a short video lesson that connects that simple truth to Scripture.

You can view the full Freedom In Christ outline here…

I look forward to walking together with you in Scripture and truth,

Jaclyn

Free To Be You ~ Week One

Simple Truth:

You. What a powerful word at times. A lost word. A negative word. A word with a past, a story, a shadow of what was. A word so uniquely set apart. A word too big to comprehend.

You. Designed meticulously by the Creator. Breathed in the breath of life. Loved to the point of Sacrifice. Cared for by the presence of the Holy Spirit. Forgiven by the blood. Washed by the Spirit. Renewed. Whole. Holy. Pure. You.

You. What would your ten truths say about you? Could you/would you take the time to write ten things about you as seen by the Father? You were given you to take care of, to know, and to grow. Will you consider becoming a student of you?

Consider: How well do you know you? Do you know how to see who you are through the eyes of God? Can you say, β€œI am knit together by Him.” Can you say, β€œmy weaknesses are boast worthy, for His glory shines upon them.”

Challenge: Study yourself. In kindness, pay attention to who you are in the eyes of the very One who created you, loves you, and is cheering you on to growth and strength and success. (Joshua 1)

Scripture:

~ Psalm 139:13

β€œFor you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.”

~ 2 Corinthians 12:9

β€œBut he said to me, β€œMy grace Is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

My prayer is that we will all find freedom in the person He created us to be, uniquely and beautifully. Be confident in who you are, for you are His!

Prayer for Our Thoughts

Oh, Lord God,

How I have been wrestling with this study of Freedom from our Thoughts throughout this week. Where does one go with one’s thoughts. This is my question. Why are we prone to assume that our thoughts are evil and sin-filled and self-condemning? This also is my question.

Personally these two questions scream within me. Daily I ponder my thoughts. Daily I sit on guard of myself, working diligently in controlling my thoughts. Fighting, as with a Sword, the cruelty that resides within my inner self-condemnation, within my thoughts.

Yet, tonight I sit here at your feet surrounded by your words as if they are a belt wrapped tightly around me. Words that straighten my posture. Words that keep me centered. Words that cause my head to relax, to breathe.

These are the words I find myself sitting with. These are the words my heart is pondering louder than that of my internal thoughts. These are the words penned years ago for your daughter today. These are the words of my Father.

The thoughts of the righteous are just. (Pr. 12:5)

Father, this is your thought process. I sit in that truth. I sit in Your thoughts of Your presence in me, making me righteous and my thoughts just. Yes, Father God, I have been sitting in this truth for quite some time. Selah

The simple believes everything; but the prudent gives thoughts to his steps. (Pr. 14:15)

I am not a simple believer. I do not easily believe what is laid before me. That is not my character. That is not my person. Quite opposite, really. Yet, when I speak within myself, simple statements of unjustified depth, I believe me. Lord Jesus, this is causing my heart to want to fight for me the way I fight for my Scripture, for my country, for my family, for my Sisters far and wide. Lord, that I will be prudent in the steps of my thoughts. That they will not stumble me as a simpleton. That’s shameful. That’s gross. But mighty amazing to contemplate at your feet. Selah

Search me, Oh God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! (Ps. 139:23)

Sweet Father, this plea of praise and admiration poured out before you from your friend, David, has been swirling within my core these last few weeks. May I, in full adoration of your love for me, join him in pouring out this proclamation of praise and trust and love?

Father God, You know my heart. Oh! You know it greater than even I. And You call me Yours. You love me unconditionally. You dislike the cruelty that seeps within my soul toward myself, don’t you? My thoughts of me do not walk in step with your thoughts of me.

  • God, will you quench my thoughts that compromise your thoughts?
  • Will you know my thoughts and make them known to me?
  • Will You make them louder than the ones on repetition?
  • May I hear and know the thoughts that declare Your truths over me?

I am righteous because I am a follower of Jesus, washed in His blood, raised in His resurrection, and renewed daily by Your Spirit. Therefore, my thoughts are seen as just in Your eyes. Father, that I will comply and see and think in that beautiful truth.

I am prudent -not simple- because I have Your wisdom and understanding deep within my heart and soul. Therefore, my thoughts go before my every step, including my every thought. Oh, that I will remember that I am not simple in believing the foolishness that I muster! Ugh. This is shaking me and driving me toward a victory. I hear your song of victory over me. Selah

Lastly, Sweet Lord, help me to rest in Your arms as You know my heart and my thoughts. That I will trust You to fill my heart and my thoughts with what You know is found in me, thoughts worthy of Your praise. That my thoughts will produce praise upon Your creation and upon Your presence and Your work within me.

In the silence of awe at your feet,

Jaclyn
