Jesus is Truth

Jesus desires to be personal. Yet, He is more than personal; Jesus is Truth.

It’s easy for me to say, “Jesus is my truth, my Lord, my Savior, my Friend, my Comfort, my Strength, my Everything.”

As true as my words are, they are descriptions of my personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

My prayer is that these three Truths will stir your heart toward the Personal Love of Jesus Christ.

Truth One: You are the reason for Jesus’ life on earth.

Jesus was there when the beauty of Genesis 1 was spoken into existence, for he is the eternal Son of God. Yet, he desired to become man so He could fully relate with you and me. In doing so, Jesus came to this world as a human baby, to be raised as a human child, to experience the struggles of humanity, to embrace human affection, to feel human sorrow, to develop lasting relationships and to feel the sting of betrayal by those closest to him.

He chose to know, to relate and to understand.

He did all of this out of love. Love is always best demonstrated rather than stated. Jesus loved us and wanted to demonstrate His love to us in the clearest way imaginable, through Life.

He came to demonstrate his love by relating to our humanity. And gracious, we could all testify that being a human is not always the easiest thing to be!

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. -John 1:1,4 (ESV)

~ Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. – Philippians 2:5-8 (ESV)

Truth Two: You were on His heart.

Jesus spent a lot of time in prayer. Throughout Matthew, Mark, Luke and John we see Jesus separating himself from the crowds to get away with God in prayer.

One of these moments is recorded for us in John 17. In this chapter, in His time of prayer, Jesus (the Son of God) is praying to the Father for you.

Let that truth wash over you for a moment. Jesus, in the flesh before entering into the Garden of Gethsemane, stopped to pray for you. You were the passion on His heart.

The events of betrayal, judgment, scourging, crucifixion and death took place after this time of prayer. John chapters 18 and 19 recount this historical moment in 82 verses. These are not easy verses to read, but John records the suffering and death of Jesus with a beautiful depth.

Jesus demonstrated his love for us through life and to the point of death.

~ But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8 ESV)

~ Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world – to bear witness to the Truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” -John 18:37 (ESV)

~ He said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. – John 19:30 (ESV)

~ Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. … they laid Jesus there. – John 19:41-42 (ESV)

Truth Three: Jesus Christ rose from the grave for you.

Never before has a religious leader or founder ever conquered death. Again, being human isn’t always the easiest gig. When a human dies, regardless of how much peace he/she proclaims, that’s it. All opportunities to state or demonstrate love are over. Death cannot be conquered.

But Jesus was not a religious founder; Jesus was the Son of God! There is a difference.

But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said.” – Matthew 28:5-6 (ESV)

~ And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20 (ESV)

Psalm 19 declares the cries of worship that pour forth from all of creation; the sun, moon and stars, the mountains and rocks. All of God’s creation was created for all of his glory.

Yet, only one creation was given the ability to proclaim the name of Jesus Christ, humanity. When Jesus Christ rose from the grave, conquering sin, death, and eternal separation from God, he offered you a relationship with God Almighty. God gave you the gift of Eternal Salvation

As a child of God through the Love of Jesus Christ, we have the opportunity to demonstrate our love for Him through living and proclaiming and Shining forth His Light.

Therefore, Jesus Christ wants to be your Lord, your Savior, your everything. He loves you. He seeks for you. Jesus calls you His. There is no greater Truth than the truth of His Love. For the Truth of Jesus Christ’s life, death and resurrection places you safely in the Hands of God.

Your friend and sister in Christ,

Jaclyn

“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received, how Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; was buried, rose again the third day according to the scriptures, was seen by Cephas, and then by the twelve. Then he was seen by over five hundred at once, then he was seen by James and then by all the apostles. Last of all, he was seen by me also … the least of the apostles and not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

But by the grace of God I am what I am.”

-1 Corinthians 15:3-10 (MEV)
