Let’s Pray for our Fasting Life

Heavenly Father, May I pause for a moment to pray for my Fasting life and for the Fasting lives of my dear friends?

Lord God, will you settle our minds when we hear this word? Will you remove the weighty stipulations that we preconceive each time you call us to fast? Will you fill us with your peace and thanksgiving in place of our self doubt?

Lord, to fast with you is to spend deeper time with you.

May that statement be the starting point of our Fasting Life. May we see your desire for our full attention as an open door to simply…be with You.

All too often, we see Fasting as something too big and unattainable. When, Lord, Fasting is you and me. May we sit in that truth. And, Father, help us to grow in Fasting as we are/where we are. Will you guide our time together? Please teach us what our Fasting Life looks like. May it be more about your words over us and less about “what we can do or not do.” Simply, You.

I pray we will see our Fasting Life as a starting point to hearing your voice. That we will become more familiar with your words for us. And that we will be able to discern your voice above our inner thoughts and above the noise of the world.

Whether we fast with you for one hour or two, whether we spend a half a day or a full day, whether we set weekly dates or monthly, I pray we will practice this intentional time with you so we may know You. Selah.

Above all else, may I say Thank You. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to talk to you about all things and in all ways. Thank you for seeing us as the individual daughters that we are. Thank you for not being a God of expectations and obligations but of freedom and of love. And thank you for always drawing us into your arms, into your thoughts, and before your Throne.

It is before you that I pray for Fasting today.

Amen

Let’s Pray for Connection

Dear Father,

I pray you will guide my eyes to the connection that matters. Father, there are so many distractions. So many connections that tug at my heart causing my thoughts to sway from what matters above all else.

Lord, I pray you will guard my ears from hearing, my eyes from seeing, my thoughts from wandering, my heart from desiring, and (quite frankly) my American blood from boiling. How easy it is to seek connection to that which is familiar, safe, expected, “normal”…

Yet, Lord, you have provided connections that set a safe guard around all of me, inside and out. Connection to You above all else. Lord Jesus, thank you for this sweet and powerful connection! Thank you for salvation! Thank you for prayer! How greatly I cling to our conversations day by day, moment by moment.

Father God, build connections within our lives that lead to Truth. How hard this is, for what is truth? Lord, we know YOU are TRUTH, but in the world around us truth is uncertain. I pray you will stir within our hearts when true facts are presented before us. Cause us to walk away from falsehoods. Lead us in the way of right thinking and set our feet on your solid foundation. Discernment, Lord! For this I pray!!

Holy Spirit, weave us within a tapestry of family focused beauty! That our ears, eyes, thoughts and steps will be encompassed by a great cloud of witnesses. That we will be filled with words of encouragement and strength founded upon Jesus Christ! That we will be surety for one another. And that through our connection to you and to one another we may share Truth to the hungry world around us.

Connect us, Sweet Savior, within the safety of Your love.

Amen

Prayer for Discernment

Heavenly and most gracious Father,

Lord, I pray for discernment. Short and simple. There are many resources of “truth” circulating on multiple platforms. Father, I pray you will set my eyes on Your solid truth. I pray Your truth filters all other truths.

Lord, just this week alone I have seen articles, blogs, clips, photos, stats, videos and preaching. I’ve seen Scripture proclaimed, shared, twisted, and thrown. I’ve witnessed rants, fights, disagreements, breakups and accusations. I have seen acts of love, hatred, judgment and healing.

Father, to be able to see clearly is my deepest prayer today. I crave understanding as to what is accurate, what is valid, what is made up to add to an already intense saga, what is photoshopped, what is pretend, what is of man, and what is from You. Lord, this is my prayer!

Father God, I pray this for myself and for my prayer sisters.

Allow us to see through Your eyes. Train us to hear through Your ears. Remind us to think with the mind of Christ. Quicken our hearts to fallacies in order to sweetly testify of Your love. Lord, may the knowledge that presents itself before us be cycled through Your Word, so we will know how to receive it, how to respond within ourselves and/or toward others, and how to behave.

Lord Jesus, truth in You sets us free. Truth sets our eyes, settles our hearts, lights our steps, and makes straight our paths. Truth opens doors to testify of Your Name, Your love, Your death and Your resurrection. Your truth spills peace within our souls. And it comforts Your children as Your truths are discussed among us.

You do not give us a spirit of fear. You do give us the Spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind. Father, help us to utilize these free gifts. Help us to demonstrate Your power, to cling to and express Your love, and to stand firm upon the surety of a sound mind.

Father, this prayer for discernment is my prayer today. Hear and answer our plea. Pour upon us an abundance of clear, Scriptural discernment.

We love you, Lord, and we choose to follow You as the Way, the Truth and the Life.

XOXO
