Jesus,
Today I come before you just needing your sweet presence.
I don’t want to fill that need with things that fade.
Just You. That is all I need.
Your word is my delight, Your promises are my peace.
This life is overwhelming, and it can rob me of perfect peace
Until you remind me of Your promises and your faithfulness to complete the work You began in me.
Forgive me when I get distracted and look out on the waves.
You are my place of peace in all of life’s storms.
Colossians 3:15, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.“
Heal me when I hurt once again from life’s let downs.
And remind me of the secret inner delight found only in Your Word.
Psalm 119:97, “Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.“
Draw me near when I drift away. Woo me with Your Holy Spirit.
Fill my mind with Your thoughts that I might think rightly.
Isaiah 26:3, “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.“
Take my heart, it is yours. Nothing in this world will satisfy.
May Your Word be at the center of my life, so I don’t lose my way or let stress define my life.
Proverbs 23:26, ‘My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes delight in my ways.“
May I not look for peace or help in people or places that cannot provide it.
Help me to seek you fervently every day, to think on Your word and apply it in my life.
Jeremiah 33:3, “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.“
The world and its pains try to rob me of peace and joy, but there in the midst of life, I find You. Always there, always ready to help me. I love You, Lord.
You are my peace. You are my hope. You are my joy. You are my love.
Psalm 33:20-22 “We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield.
In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.
Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone.“
