Prayer for the Beautifully Designed

Father, we always hear that Beauty is vain. And we walk away determined to be a woman who fears the Lord. Father, this is good and Biblical and sweet.

Oh but God! We are beautifully designed by You. You formed us from the rib of man and created us to be beautiful in the eyes of our man. This is good and Biblical and sweet.

Father, this is a battle! It is an exhausting, cyclical battle deep within my soul. Oh, how I struggle with living as a woman who fears the Lord and who does not focus on beauty but wants to be beautiful yet doesn’t see herself as beautiful on days where her head plummets to the dire depths of all things nasty.

Cyclical, indeed!

Ugh.

Sweet Designer,

Thank you for my beauty. Lord, on days where I struggle in seeing myself as such it is hard to say this proclamation of praise. Father, I hate when I am so mean to me. It’s not okay. Help me on those days to see myself in your eyes. Help me to see myself as the beautifully designed of the Master Creator. Help me to speak words of life and not of contempt to the one you call beautiful.

Father God, I pray this prayer over me and over the sister who understands this struggle all too well. I don’t know how often this battle hits each of us, but when it hits… mygosh! It hurts.

~ Heal our damaged mentality.

~ Replace our lies with your truth.

~ Shut down dire thoughts of comparison.

~ Allow us to see what you see.

~ Teach us the difference between displaying vanity and knowing who we are.

~ Fill our hearts with your confidence and proper pride as to who we are.

~ Open our eyes to our radiant beauty.

We are women designed to be beautiful! It is our design. It is our very nature to be seen as beautiful.

We are beautiful! For we are your beautifully designed daughters.

Father,

Thank you for your faithful love. Oh, how I cherish you!

Amen
