Let’s Pray in the Spirit

Heavenly Father,

With such a grand title, Let’s Pray in the Spirit, I feel like I need to prepare my prayer space and clear my head or utter a chant. But God that would be all me doing all the work as if to show you that I was in the Spirit.

Lord God, you have given me your Spirit. Selah.

Oh, Father, how I sit in that truth. How the gift of such magnitude overwhelms my heart, causing me to catch my breath. Selah.

Sweet Father,

May I pray for myself and for my prayer sister that we may know you are with us. Always. Father, your Spirit is in us. Always. I pray she will feel your presence. I pray you will capture her heart and mind and thoughts. For when she is in prayer praying all things before the Throne she is praying in the Spirit, for you have promised. And in that promise we kneel, we bow, we sit, we lay, we come before you. As we are before your Throne, we pray, Father God, hear these words. Treasure them. Hold them…

Gather our prayers, I pray. Unite them for the kingdom come. May our words be useful for your way, to pour out your truth, and to offer life -abundant and eternal life- within us and upon those around us. For you and in your Spirit I pray.

God, I adore you. How precious we are in your sight! How magnificent and good you are in ours! Thank you for such a personal relationship with you. Thank you for Christ Jesus. And thank you for your Spirit. I pray we will pray this day in the Spirit. Not in our own efforts but in your promise.

Amen

What is Prayer

Because Jesus

Freedom In His Love

What is the Connection in Prayer?

Many of us wonder what the connection is between us and prayer and God and Christ Jesus. We wonder why and how God uses our prayer for the benefit of others. We truly desire to know how prayer is all connected.

Understanding the connection of prayer always begins with knowing Jesus and knowing that prayer begins in and through His precious death and resurrection.

Next to knowing Jesus, it is so important to know your position.

When we know that we are seated at the right hand of the Throne of God, the intimidation to pray or pressure to pray “better” gets washed over with the desire to have a conversation with God.

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:4-6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

In Christ, we are seated beside God. Present tense. Sit quietly with that truth. Selah.

My prayer is that we will grasp the depth of this gift from God. I pray that when we pray (whether on our knees or on our way) that we will see ourselves in our positioned seat beside God Almighty.

  • He is sitting there beside you.
  • He feels the emotions coarsing through you.
  • He sees the posture that is overtaking your body.
  • He hears the quietness of your breathe, your sigh, your cry, your smile, your existence.
God calls us friend. He seats us {always} beside Him. May we have a sweet and sincere conversation with Him there.
  • May we feel His arm around us as we sit in conversation with Him.
  • May we feel His emotions for us as we sit beside Him.
  • May we see His posture as we sit beside Him.
  • May we hear His breathe, His understanding, His Love, His joy, His existence.

Do you see this? Do you understand the depth of this simplicity? Your part in prayer matters. Your prayer life matters. Are you willing to grasp the beautiful power in this truth? My prayer is that we will all see and fully grasp this sweet gift of pure conversation with our God.

Walking together in prayer & truth,

Jaclyn

Cast Your Words at the Foot of the Cross

God,

My heart is silent before you. I crave words to spill at the foot of my Savior, but silence is my only sound. Selah

Father, how sweetly you display your words of love over us. How intimately you meet our individual needs. Father, from the beginning, you sacrificed your Dearest for us. Your only Son. I cannot even fathom the depth of that love. How does a heart begin to process such divine love!

  • We are yours.
  • You call us to yourself.
  • You desire our love.
  • You listen to our cries.
  • You hear our prayers.
  • You heal our wounds.
  • You love us.

Father, here we are at your feet. United through the blood. Knit together in your love. Lord, for some of us our words are easily vocalized. Our thoughts, feelings, opinions, and emotions are verbalized in variant tones for you to hear. We thank you for hearing and holding our truths. Some of us are struggling with our statements. Not knowing how to gather our thoughts. Not knowing how to pour out our struggles, thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Lord Jesus, the images on our screens and in our city streets throughout our nation stirs our hearts to spill out words at the foot of the cross. Thank you for hearing our words before they are even expressed.

Our Father, our God. We pray today in trust that you know our truths. And we know that we can trust you with our words just as we have trusted you with our eternity. I pray you will carry the weight of our prayers as a people, as a nation, as a family. Lord, if we cast judgment stones as we pray in honesty to you, will you catch our stones? Lord, catch them, forgive them, erase them, and call them “no more.”

Our nation, our people, our family, our friends, our cities, our jobs, our words, Father, are yours. We trust you to hear, heal and hold them all in your mighty hands.

We love you,

Xoxo
