Prayer for Decisions

Father, this prayer has been circulating in my head throughout this day. Decisions.

Lord, many decisions we faced last year remain present this year. Decisions regarding food, drink, clothes, sleep, raising children, loving husbands, respecting work environment, communicating with those around us, facing temptations, overcoming trials, shutting down Satan. Lord, the list goes on and on. And for each of us, though the statement may sound the same, the depth and direction of each decision varies dramatically.

Lord, we needed your presence on last year’s path. And we look back and see where you were, what you did, and how you rescued the situation we were facing.

This year, Lord God, this year presents many of the same things but in a different manner. Every one of my minor and major decisions seem tainted by an ever present cloud. Is that fair to say? It is deeply how I feel.

Father, there are so many rants I crave to spill out in this prayer, but You have already heard them throughout these last hours. Gracious, you’ve heard them throughout this year. I understand my personal dialogue is unneeded at this moment. So, I keep my prayerful ponderings at your feet.

Lord, in place of my personal display of jumbled up decisions, may I pray for my prayer sister who is facing her own list of decisions. Lord, whether it be regarding education or health or occupation or location or appearance or preparation or _______________________.

Lord, I pray You will hear the prayers on her heart, listen to her words, see Your desired outcome, and make straight her path! Lord, I pray You will settle the fear, anxiety, anger, hurt, dismay or confusion that may be overshadowing the decision she needs to make. Make each matter clear to her. Help her to see fully the best direction. And fill her with surety, confidence, peace and grace as she pursues the path set before her during this season that is called 2020.

Lord God, I love you.

Amen

A Prayer for Friends

Father,

What a beautiful day this is. I do love raining, lazy days. But here’s the deal. I need to not be lazy. So, I ask you now to fill me with a new day’s energy to accomplish my To-Do list. That’s my request.

Lord, I also pray for my prayer sisters today. Lord, I pray that you will hear their requests. See their needs. Understand their emotions. And make yourself known in the midst of their day. Regardless of the request on their hearts, Father, you are able to provide the answer. That is who you are.

I think of friends who are battling cancer. Names pressed on my heart. Their health held in your hands. Father, I pray their hope and faith and trust will rest in You. I pray they will cling to the promise of your presence. I pray her eyes will behold the beauty of your majesty. And I pray for those who are around her, loving her and caring for her. Lord, fill their hearts with joy, their mouths will kindness and humor, and their lips with abundant smiles.

I think of friends who are revamping, if you will, their ministry. With this {long} spring season coming to an end, summer norms still up in the air, and fall routines wrapped in uncertainties, there is much to figure out. Father, I pray for solid truth to be laid as her building foundation. Give her the Scripture passage You would have her to build on. The one that will encourage her to press on despite the roadblocks that may come her way. I pray for creativity and brilliance and excitement for these next steps.

I think of friends who are “done”. So often we say this in the midst of our personal chaos and then wake up fine the next day. But, Lord, those days in which we are “done” are long and frustrating and lonely. I pray for grace to overcome the soul overwhelmed. Lord, that your grace and understanding will crush the chaos that is spiraling within your daughter’s head/heart/emotions/thoughts/truths/lies/etc… And Lord, I pray she will be bold enough to text a friend to simply say, “I’m done. Pray for me.” Then Lord, I pray that trusted friend will pray for her. Bond the sweetness of that relationship.

Father, thank you for this beautiful day. I pray that we will pray for our friends as we live the day ahead. And Lord, thank you for the sweet and loving gift of friends.

Xoxo

Six Ways to See Your Value

A Prayer for Peace ~ by Denise Pass

Some Things Are Still The Same

The Holy Spirit has not changed.

The body of Christ is still the family of God.

Jesus Christ still loves you and me.

The New Testament church is still alive.

Nations are still vast and varied.

Satan is still roaming like a lion.

Our flesh is still craving its desires.

The world still contains unsaved souls.

Daily struggles are still affecting our day to day existence.

Life is still real.

In a world where things are not what they were yesterday, these things remain the same.

And Friend, you and I are still the outlet created to be used as the connector of all these dots by the blood of Jesus Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Yes, today is different than yesterday. But we still have a job to do. We still have a smile to share. And we still have the Name above all names to proclaim! Oh, that we will occupy our time with prayer, with studying the Scripture, and with worship!

Because, you see, the more time you invest in the life of Jesus Christ, the more Jesus Christ will spill from your very core.
