Father God, our days are so new and unknown

Father God, I love you and I thank you for being my God. How spoiled I am to talk to you right now and to know that you are hearing my words, listening to my prayer and holding my heart.

I could write a book of words before you and you would sit with interest the whole time. I could pour a bucket of tears before you and you would treasure each drop, storing them in a bottle. I could sit with you not uttering a single syllable and you, O my God, would understand the depth of my silence.

Father God, I do love you and thank you for being my God.

May I enter your presence hand in hand with my sisters?

May we gather our words, tears and silence and cast them before You?

Will you hold us?

Father God, our days are weird. Each day feels so new, unknown, and unsettled. Our emotions are rollercoastering (for sure my word) with each new announcement, closure, statistic, and regulation.

Lord, we are so accustomed to doing life together and now we are advised to separate ourselves from each other. This is the reality that crushes my heart the most. I think of the women I engage with every Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, and for spontaneous coffee dates throughout each week.

I think of the prayer requests that are shared and prayed over while we are united together. I think of the tears that are held. I think of the laughter that spreads. I think of the rejuvenating breath that occurs for women as they pause in one another’s presence. I think of the joy that spills from Your Scripture and the giggles that erupt from inevitable rabbit trails.

Father God, you gifted us with girlfriends and sisters in Christ. Being socially separated from each other is going to open doors for discouragement, defeat, and depression. Oh God, I pray You will shut those doors! Lord, that they will not even crack open. I pray Your mighty hand will separate Your daughters from any tactic of the devil. Fight for each of Your daughters during these days.

Lord, You promise that Your Word will be evident in our hearts and minds.

~ I pray your grace will abound. (2 Corinthians 9:8)

~ I pray your peace will surpass. (Philippians 4:7)

~ I pray your happiness will overcome. (Psalm 144:15)

~ I pray we will not feel alone for You are ever present for you are our God. (Psalm 46:1)

Father God, we love you and we thank you for being our God.

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. – Hebrews 4:16

Father God, Unify My House

What Are You Waiting For?

Father God, Unify My House

Lord, I am enamored with your teaching on the “Strongman’s house” of Matthew 12. “How can someone enter a strongman’s house and plunder his goods, unless he firsts binds the strong man?” (V. 29)

Lord, You’ve done the work. You’ve entered the house. You’ve bound the strong man. And, Lord Jesus, you have plundered the goods of the strongman. All in all, You have unified Your house through Your appearance in the flesh, through Your death on the cross, and finalizing it through Your resurrection.

The strongman has no place. None.

Father, we always hear that the world is Satan’s and that it is filled with his evil minions.

But Father, You created it. (Genesis 1)

Jesus saved it. (Matthew 27-28)

The Holy Spirit is actively present in it. (Acts 2)

And we are still alive.

  • We who are created by you, (Jeremiah 1:5)
  • saved by Jesus and (Romans 10:9-10)
  • filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 1:13)

Sure, Satan may have a reference to being the prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2), but we are referred to as heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17), the children of God (Romans 8:16), the ones filled with greater than what is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Oh, how I pray that we will see the world as loved and rescued by You. That we will participate as the called, the chosen, the unified. That we will blind the eyes of Satan with Your light freeing those around us from his attempted blinding by darkness.

Father, this world and all that is in it is YOURS!

Father God, I pray that You will unify my house.

Me and all who I love.

All that I love and all their people.

Their people and Your body of believers.

Your body of believers and all of whom You have created, loved, saved, and filled with Your Spirit!

Unify, Lord God Above, Your House!

Amen.

When you don’t know what to pray

Our United Voice of Prayer

It always begins with God

It begins with God.

It always begins with God. God remains on His throne, crowned in His deity. Always. He is the First and the Last, the Alpha and Omega. He is the Creator of the Universe and the Lover of our souls. He is God Almighty who craves to be our Father God. He is the great and everlasting I AM. Always and Forever. In His holiness, He desired relational connection with you and I despite our inherited humanity.

Enter Jesus Christ

Being equal with God He chose to humble himself. He took on the form of man, embraced a wooden cross, felt the sting of death, enclosed himself in separation from God Above, and sang a song of Victory over it all. Jesus Christ, the Creator of the universe and the Lover of our souls, chose submission to His Father so we in our humanity could have a relationship with God washed in Jesus’ holiness.

Enter man

Created in the image of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Perfectly designed by God in His image and for His glory. Chosen to be an Image bearer for the world around him. Created whole but missing a piece, for man couldn’t last a day without a woman.

Enter woman

Created in the image of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Perfectly designed by God in His image and for His glory. Chosen to be an Image bearer for the world around her. Created whole and for the fulfilling of the missing piece. For man can not exist without a woman.

The image of submission

As man and as woman we were designed to submit to Christ as Christ submitted to God, For God is the head of Christ and Christ is the head of man. We are given a choice to claim Christ for our salvation and to submit to Him in our faith.

As man and as woman, we were given additional positions as husband and wife. Not all mankind lives in this realm, but for those of us that do, we need to be extra mindful of the positions listed in 1 Corinthians 11: God, Christ, husband, wife.

~ Men and women need to stand in submission to Christ.

~ Wives need to stand in submission to their husbands.

~ Husbands need to stand in submission to Christ.

~ Submission is designed by God, demonstrated by Christ, and desired by God from all mankind, man and woman.

Submission is the very image we were created to display to the world around us.

“But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God,

– 1 Corinthians 11:3

*** Too often we cringe at the word submission. My prayer is that we will gaze into the face of God, set our eyes on Jesus Christ, and follow in His example of love. For His love is the truest definition of submission.
