Rise Above the Fog

In the midst of today we rise higher than we thought we could. Each day ending in confusion, defeat, frustration. Yet a new day begins, and we get up and we go. We get things accomplished, we assign tasks to others, we communicate, we achieve. Repeat.

Well done.

Truly, in the midst of today you are rising higher simply by your determination and character. You know you can quit. All the things. We always have the choice to leave. Leave home. Leave work. Leave life.

I’m proud of us.

In the midst of today we are here. We are standing with a determination to do another day. We may not express it with our words, but our faithful, redundant, familiar motions are screaming forth our determination.

Stand tall on that accomplishment.

And breathe.

Friend, you are not alone. Do you know this truth? Sure, there are times (days/seasons) that the feeling of being alone overwhelms our soul. But I ask you to rise above. In the smallest way, rise above. There is a person outside your home that needs your smile.

We think, “the people in my home need my smile.” And the overwhelmed loneliness washes over us once again.

This is why I am asking you to rise above. In the midst of your motions will you seek out a person outside your home? Share your smile with a person and when a smile is returned, receive it. There’s medicine there! A smile shared and received is medicine for our minds, for our emotions, and for our bodies.

Smile with a person.

Allow that smile to grow into a conversation. *be careful not to dump all your cards 😉 But lay down one statement and see if you can trust that friend with your truth. If you cannot then congratulations on your discernment and strength. Be proud of that. And smile.

Move forward.

Your end goal: find that person -that in their smile and conversation- will remind you of truths. Truths about that person/those people at home who need your smile. Allow this person to help you stand in the fog. Allow this person to walk with you as the fog lifts slowly, day by day. Allow this person to remind you of who you are and what Today is all about.

Life.

A friend is a powerhouse of strength and laughter. She is medicine for your soul.

There is truth to stand on and a smile waiting for your soul. Are you willing to rise above the fog and seek it out? I pray that you are.

What is the Connection in Prayer?

Freedom In His Love

What is the Connection in Prayer?

Many of us wonder what the connection is between us and prayer and God and Christ Jesus. We wonder why and how God uses our prayer for the benefit of others. We truly desire to know how prayer is all connected.

Understanding the connection of prayer always begins with knowing Jesus and knowing that prayer begins in and through His precious death and resurrection.

Next to knowing Jesus, it is so important to know your position.

When we know that we are seated at the right hand of the Throne of God, the intimidation to pray or pressure to pray “better” gets washed over with the desire to have a conversation with God.

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:4-6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

In Christ, we are seated beside God. Present tense. Sit quietly with that truth. Selah.

My prayer is that we will grasp the depth of this gift from God. I pray that when we pray (whether on our knees or on our way) that we will see ourselves in our positioned seat beside God Almighty.

  • He is sitting there beside you.
  • He feels the emotions coarsing through you.
  • He sees the posture that is overtaking your body.
  • He hears the quietness of your breathe, your sigh, your cry, your smile, your existence.
God calls us friend. He seats us {always} beside Him. May we have a sweet and sincere conversation with Him there.
  • May we feel His arm around us as we sit in conversation with Him.
  • May we feel His emotions for us as we sit beside Him.
  • May we see His posture as we sit beside Him.
  • May we hear His breathe, His understanding, His Love, His joy, His existence.

Do you see this? Do you understand the depth of this simplicity? Your part in prayer matters. Your prayer life matters. Are you willing to grasp the beautiful power in this truth? My prayer is that we will all see and fully grasp this sweet gift of pure conversation with our God.

Walking together in prayer & truth,

Jaclyn

Let’s Pray for Connection

Because Jesus

Say It Again, Jesus is Coming Again!

What is Prayer

Prayer is Jesus. Think about that for a minute. Without Jesus, prayer is empty and vain. With Jesus, prayer is an entrance gate to the very heart of God Above.

The moment you place your faith in Jesus Christ, the moment you believe in your heart that God has risen Christ from the dead, the moment you confess with your mouth that Jesus was buried and Risen again you are saved. (Romans 10:9-13)

This truth is Scripture. It is foundational Scripture. And it is the only truth that will open wide the door for you to get to pray. Yes, prayer is Jesus.

Do you know Him? Have you placed your faith in Jesus Christ. If yes, then, Friend, you have already begun your path of communication with God through Christ Jesus. If not, are you interested in meeting the very One who knows you and loves you more than life itself?

Learn more about Jesus here.

My request for each of us today is this, will we purpose to talk with Jesus today?

The beautiful thing about having full access to the ears of God as a child of God filled with the Spirit of God because of the Son of God (shout of hallelujah right here!!) is the fact that there are no rules in when or how we converse with Him.

Talk to Him as you are/where you are.

  • Share your thoughts.
  • Share your emotion.
  • Share your questions.
  • Drop your pretense.
  • Drop your bravery.
  • Drop your political correctness.
  • Be real.
  • Be honest.
  • Be the You that He so intricately designed to be You.

He knows you. Talk to Him as if you believe that.

That is prayer.
