Prayer for the Beautifully Designed

Father, we always hear that Beauty is vain. And we walk away determined to be a woman who fears the Lord. Father, this is good and Biblical and sweet.

Oh but God! We are beautifully designed by You. You formed us from the rib of man and created us to be beautiful in the eyes of our man. This is good and Biblical and sweet.

Father, this is a battle! It is an exhausting, cyclical battle deep within my soul. Oh, how I struggle with living as a woman who fears the Lord and who does not focus on beauty but wants to be beautiful yet doesn’t see herself as beautiful on days where her head plummets to the dire depths of all things nasty.

Cyclical, indeed!

Ugh.

Sweet Designer,

Thank you for my beauty. Lord, on days where I struggle in seeing myself as such it is hard to say this proclamation of praise. Father, I hate when I am so mean to me. It’s not okay. Help me on those days to see myself in your eyes. Help me to see myself as the beautifully designed of the Master Creator. Help me to speak words of life and not of contempt to the one you call beautiful.

Father God, I pray this prayer over me and over the sister who understands this struggle all too well. I don’t know how often this battle hits each of us, but when it hits… mygosh! It hurts.

~ Heal our damaged mentality.

~ Replace our lies with your truth.

~ Shut down dire thoughts of comparison.

~ Allow us to see what you see.

~ Teach us the difference between displaying vanity and knowing who we are.

~ Fill our hearts with your confidence and proper pride as to who we are.

~ Open our eyes to our radiant beauty.

We are women designed to be beautiful! It is our design. It is our very nature to be seen as beautiful.

We are beautiful! For we are your beautifully designed daughters.

Father,

Thank you for your faithful love. Oh, how I cherish you!

Amen

Martha

Oh, Father, I love Martha’s!* I know you do too, for you created women to rise above the odds, to take care of our people, to transform a location into a home, to work hard and love just the same.

We are women. We are your creation. We are your daughters. You are our King!

In that affirmation, some of us sit and some of us work. Yet all of us do what our hearts lead us to do for your glory!

Oh, how I’m not a Martha! Oh, how I admire their strength and accomplishments!

Lord, may I pray for you to call the work of ‘Your Martha’sGood. I pray you will bless the fruit of her faithfulness! Assure her efforts in praise and worth. I pray value upon her gift of labor and authenticity upon her deeds.

Father, you gave us a life lesson in a snapshot of Martha’s ill-hearted labor, but you also gave us a chapter*, books*, and bountiful examples* of Martha’s quality.

Bless, I pray, my friends who so purely identify with your friend, Martha.

In Jesus’ Name I pray,

Amen💕

The Gift of a Girlfriend

(5/7/19)

Oh, God, you didn’t have to give us the gift of friendship, but you did. You didn’t have to give us the gift of a smile, but you did. Lord, you did not have to use the company of another human to warm a piece of our soul, but, Lord God-creator of all things, you did.

I sit here in the rays of your sun feeling the whisper of the wind upon my skin feeling overcome in abundant awe at what you have given to us through the gift that is called, Friend.

Father, I am full. I am so full of tears, full of smiles, full of purpose, full of love, full of YOU simply by spending the last few days with a friend who is full of tears and full of smiles and full of purpose and full of love and so beautifully full of YOU.

Oh! The gift of a friend. Oh! How abundant! Thank you, Father, thank you for designing us to benefit from the sweet, sweet gift of connecting to one another as girlfriends.
