I Love My Country and My Fellow Citizens.

To be at a loss of words during a time of such vast unrest is unsettling to my core. I sit here and observe from the comforts of my home. I listen to the voices of those far from my heart’s cry. I feel the pain that surges through the heroes lying in beds from coast to coast. I do not understand. I do not support the chaos that is going on. Not because I am racist or entitled. But because I do not support the chaos that is going on.

As a Christian, I stand upon the rock that was set apart by the blood of Jesus Christ. His ransom paying the price for heinous acts of hate from the beginning of time. That includes this last’s weeks affairs. That includes this ill behavior. That includes the murders, the shootings, the attacks. That includes the rioters. That includes the looters. That includes those throwing bottles and bricks and … stones.

As an American, I find this week’s events disturbing, unsettling and wrong. My country is facing a break-up within its own walls. This land that fought such disgrace is throwing that sweet soil in the faces of those who gave their all. Law abiding citizens, you and me, sit today without a voice, without a stand, without a right to an opinion, without our country on which we stand.

To say I’m at a loss of words during this time of vast unrest is only truth due to the obligation to comply with what is repeated and rehearsed. The truth is I am not at a loss of words. I have much running through my head, expressed in my prayers and shared within the conversations of my family.

My voice is that of freedom. Freedom to walk around my neighborhood in ease. Freedom to shop in an open store with ease. Freedom to be friendly with those who live their lives around me. Freedom to teach. Freedom to speak. Freedom to write. Freedom to think. Think for myself.

In that freedom I say, I do not support the chaos that is going on. It irritates me. It makes me mad. It makes me sad. It makes me miss my Country.

As Jaclyn, I stand for the red and for the white and for the blue. I stand for the soil that I love so dearly. I stand with those who gave and who are giving and who dream of joining the forces that make this nation what it is. Free. I stand for the purity that lives on in the heart of its citizens.

I stand for the innocence that is rebirthed in each new generation and clung to by each passing generation. The glint of love for “the old days” that radiates from their eyes has always enamored me. The sweet admiration from the youth as wave their American flags at summer parades is a spectacular thing to behold.

And I stand with those who stand on the front lines. Who seek to serve and to protect and to adore the nation in which they are willing to die. I stand for freedom fighters. Without them, I would not be free.

I found the core of my lost words as I etched out my thoughts.

I love my country and my fellow citizens.
