Fear’s Table

Sitting there alone as my tears washed over the kitchen floor, I knew something had to change. I was paralyzed by fear. I was overcome by left-over emotions of past realities. Realities of my dad’s death at 33; I was eight. Realities of this same dad leaving 7 years earlier; my 8-year-old self wondering if it were her fault. I was broken and bound by fear. And in this reality, I sat in my corner all alone. Wrapped in the body of my 32-year-old self, I wept the tears of fear that washed over me after my husband and son walked out the door. 3 Repeats

Other than the three repeats to follow, I love repeats! Unlike a crazy girlfriend of mine, I have repeated movies up to a thousand and three times. Songs, shoes, shopping, day’s out, night’s out, breakfast, snacks, you name it I repeat it. Like an average four year old girl whose favorite line is “I wanna do that again!” Yup, that’s me.

These three things, in its context, weighted me so desperately for so many years. Ugh. But in my wise old age I’ve learned that with a proper mindset and a certified plan of attack, they’re not that bad. Well, two of them are not that bad. One is just plain from the depths of hell. Read more

Here we learn a definition we ought to have define our personal lives.

What we learn from this verse is a simple solution to many questions thrown at us day after day. The answer is this: Pray for wisdom and shut your mouth! Living a peaceful lifestyle truly takes time and practice, but if there is one thing we need to practice, time and again, it is the art of binding unnecessary words that quickly stir up strife, destroy relationships, and ruin the sweet testimony of Jesus Christ.
