A Vulnerable Prayer (for me)

Father God,

I know it is not a scheduled day to post a prayer in my Prayer Journal, but my heart is stirring within my soul to write a prayer to You. I pray you will lead this prayer. Guide my words. Pour out my soul. Speak Scriptural truth to me and to those joining me in prayer via this unscheduled prayer.

Father, much has been discussed this past week regarding our Foundation in Christ Jesus. Lord, no other foundation has been laid but that which is Christ. Lord, I stand on that foundation. I thank you for providing something equally sure and fluid. Lord, this foundation in Christ cannot be shaken, broken or harmed in any way. Yet it is fluid in its growth and constant expansion as, one by one, we call upon the Name of Jesus Christ in belief that He is the way, the truth and the life.

Standing on the promise of this foundation, I find my faulty structure. It’s my thoughts of myself. Father, I have a solid structure. I am confident in my building. I am consistent in my work by Your faithful measure of grace. But, Father God, I stunt my build when my thoughts take over. This. This is where I fail as your building, as your fellow worker.

Then, Lord, my Bible falls open to Job 27, and You open my eyes to a truth declared by a member of this Eternal Structure called the House of God. Lord, Job pours out a promise that pricked my heart and caused me to stand. Oh, Lord, how much power is found in the Word of God!

This morning this familiar passage became so new. For that I thank you for being a Living God and for gifting us with Your Living Scripture!

As long as my breath is in me, and the Spirit of God is in my nostrils, my lips will not speak falsehood, and my tongue will not utter deceit (about me to me). I hold fast my righteousness (my truth in Him) and will not let it go; my heart does not reproach me for any of my days. -Job 27:3-4,6

Father, I pray that you will remind me to control my heart from reproaching myself within my thoughts.

  • Lord, bind the falsehoods that I spew toward me.
  • Lord, seal my lips from uttering deceit about me to me.
  • Lord, strengthen my truth of who I am in You as a solid structure standing on a sure foundation!

Oh, Lord! How good You are, my Father, my God!

Prayer Sister,

If you can relate to the words of this vulnerable prayer, please take it personal. Pray these words from your heart to God’s heart. Write Job’s declarative promise on paper. Commit it to memory. Fight those inner thoughts with the power of Scripture. Stand with me on the sure foundation of Christ Jesus. We are not fighting this battle alone.

XOXO

Praise for God

Jesus. There is no other name.

Do you say these things to God, too?

Six Ways to See Your Value

This is not another post to add to your “try to do better/be better” list. This is simply six ways to see your value as it is. It is a fresh perspective that will help you to see the fruit of your presence. Doesn’t that sound nice? To see visible fruit from all the work that we do? This, sweet sister, is the desired outcome of this post.

These six things stem from Proverbs 14. My prayer is that we will see the beautiful fruit (value/worth/wisdom) of our presence in place of the stress that fills our {seemingly} never ending days.

Six Ways to see your value

  • Your hands ~ v. 1
    • There are a thousand things we do with our hands and our sense of touch day in and day out. Will you consider each deed as a building up or a tearing down of your people and/or home.
  •  Your direction ~ v. 2
    • Are we moving forward in our growth as a human? This may be a silly question, but it is worthy of ponder. What if we compared ourselves with ourselves of yesterday, last year, last decade. What growth would we see?
  • Your kiss ~ v. 3
    • How sweet it is! Lips smile. Lips kiss. Oh, how powerful and beautiful and wise are the lips of a wife and a mom! Much can be healed in the power of wise lips.
  • Your work ~ v. 4
    • This verse is debatable pending your season in life. I suggest a fill in the blank. “Where there are no _______, the ________ is clean. but abundant ______ come by the strength of the ________. Maybe you filled in those blanks with “children, house, playdough, and giggle.” Maybe you applied it toward a specific job. Either way, I think stress would scale down if we saw the benefit of the mess rather than the mess itself.
  •  Your truth ~ v. 5
    • Girl, we know there is only one thing to say here. Don’t lie. Don’t lie to your man or to your child or to your list of humans. Big girl panties are required here. 😉
  •  Your knowledge ~ v. 6
    • Do you know things? Good. Use what you know to advance the people around you. We all know different things. I think we simply need to get a handle around our individual knowledge and see how beneficial it is for that two year old, that teenager, that grandchild, that man of yours.

You are Valuable and Worthy and Wise

Just think how wise you will be throughout your day when you begin changing your perspective in the things you are already doing. No longer will you be in autopilot just doing what you do. Now you will be in autopilot with a smile knowing that what you do is valuable and worthy and wise. For you are the wisest of women building her house (v.1).

Allow me to say a quick thank you to the ladies of the Live Group at Eagle Christian Church for engaging in this conversation. XOXO

I hope you all have a beautiful day,

Jaclyn

Prayer for The Evidential Presence of the Light of Jesus

Father, I lay this place at your feet

Satan has No Place. None.

Father, there are so many of us wanting to be heard. Our Voices falling silent in our tears. Ears deaf to our internal ache. Sorrow stacked upon sorrow creating a wall of doubt and uncertainty upon our hearts.

Your name on our lips, coupled with doubt.

Oh, Lord, I pray You will destroy the wall of doubt, so our sorrow can spill out!

Oh, that we will allow our sorrow to drain toward the source of help! (Hebrews 4:16)

Satan desires nothing more, nothing more, than our self-protection. Telling us not to reach out and depend on others. Spinning the web of “I’ve got it all together” deep within our core. Ugh! Lord, how gross is that lie!

A lie I desperately tangled myself in time and again.

But, Father, you have gifted us with friends. Selah.

Sweet Father God, you, in all your love and wisdom, created ‘friends’.

May these words be a prayer of strength to the breaking down of our self protective walls. May they declare a praise for the friends who are primed and ready to bust through those harmful barriers.

Nope. Satan has no place where your daughters are united together. He has no power when we knit our hearts and prayers and truths and praises together! He has no place, for Your Name is too powerful, beautiful, wonderful!

Together we are Standing on solid Ground! Together we thank you for our beating hearts. Lord, we are alive. And this life we are gifted to live is beyond worthy of a fight!

Sister, You are in the family of God. Shut Satan down. He has no place. None!
