Prayer for a Soldier

Lord, how sweet my thoughts are this morning as I sit with you in prayer for the soldier on my heart.

Lord, my friend has faithfully served our country for as long as I have known him. He has traveled the world over, protecting and fighting as he was directed. He has moved locations upon our American soil, starting over in community and church time and again.

Still he smiles; faithfully, he serves.

Father, this morning my heart seeks your face in prayer for him. Lord, you know the direction in which you desire my prayer to go. I pray you will gather my words and heap them over him.

~ Fill him with certainty, this morning.

~ Grant him clarity.

~ Settle peace and surety within him.

~ Direct his steps with a confident excitement.

Father God, you know the season he is ready to embrace. Father, I smile for him. Bless in perfect abundance the fruit of his faithfulness. Lord, you know how faithful he has been to our Country and to You! Oh, bless him with joy and ease and laughter.

And Father, I pray for the soldiers on the hearts of my prayer sisters. Protect each of them, we pray. Guard their hearts. Purify their minds. Set their eyes on You. Speak truth of validation and purpose within them. Cause their laughter to ring true. And bless their labor of love they have poured out for our Nation.

Thank you, Father, for our American soldiers. How blessed we are to have them, to be protected by them, to know them, to love them, to honor them, and to pray for them.

Lord, we pray for them!

In the name of Jesus, we pray.

Amen.

Prayer for November

Father, I pray you will hear this simple prayer for November. Thank you for new beginnings! Your mercies are new every day, and still you gift us with new weeks and new months. Such abundant mercies upon mercies!

Father God, Americans will be gathering at the polls this coming Tuesday. Lord God, I pray for an abundant gathering! Lord, I pray we will own our right to vote and will make our decision known. How beautiful is this freedom! How vital that we embrace this freedom!

I pray for the elected seats. I pray your hand will be on the souls filling each and every seat. Lord, these positions matter! Lord, I pray your presence will be seen through the results of Tuesday’s election.

Father, I thank you for our nation’s celebration of our Veteran’s. Oh Lord, I ask that you will bless each and every soldier that stood for our freedom and those who are presently standing proud for our American nation! Father, speak truth of validation in their hearts right now. Pour clarity into their minds! Lord, I pray they will know their individual value.

Father, I pray for the parents and the spouses and the children of these heroes. I pray strength and comfort over the families as they live their lives both in the presence and in the absence of our men and women.

Lastly, Father, I pray for Thanksgiving. Thank you for this nation that was built upon a foundation of gratitude! I pray we will build structures of Thankfulness upon that foundation this month. I pray our society will praise your Name and will proclaim the Name of Jesus Christ, so that the world will know that God reigns.

Use this month, I pray, to remind us of who we are.

We are Americans.

We are a Christian nation.

We are alive.

We are Yours.

And we are free to be all that we are.

Thank you, Lord! Thank you for our freedom. Thank you for our freedom in Christ and for our freedom in America.

We pray all these things in the power of the Name of Jesus Christ,

Amen

Free to be Confident

Surrounded by trees. Overlooking a lake. Days on a beach. Nights around a fire. These are a few of my favorite things.

Yes, I wear makeup. Yes, I wear jewelry. Yes, I shave. Yes, my nails are painted.

Yes, I camp, and I love it. In the city or in the mountains, I am Jaclyn. It’s how I do.

How refreshing to learn who we are. Truly. That no matter what we are doing, we do it as who we are. No thought as to what is expected or what we “should be.”

Simply you. Pure, true, comfortable, confident.

Father, I love freedom. I love that freedom matters to you. That it is a concept designed by you. A gift deep within us that our souls desire. Freedom from the reign of another. Freedom from sin. Freedom from chains. Freedom from expectations. Freedom from past. Freedom from shame. Freedom from lies. Freedom from fear. Freedom from all things that weigh us down, that lead us away from you, that stumble before us as traps daring us to fall.

We have a confidence in You! That confidence allows us the strength to stand in freedom. Father, thank you for the gift of freedom.

Freedom is vulnerable sometimes. Or is this thought just mine?

I don’t think I’m alone in this. To stand in freedom is a bold proclamation on which we proudly stand. That’s vulnerable. Arms raised in exhalation free of hindrances. That’s confident. Oh, that we see freedom as a gift, and that we stand confidently in that freedom! May our confidence bring honor to God and to the ones who gave us the very freedom in which we stand.

Confidence in our Father’s love.

Confidence in our Savior’s resurrection.

Confidence in the Spirit’s leading.

Confidence in your nation’s heritage.

Confidence in your spouse.

Confidence in your parenting styles.

Confidence in your ability.

Confidence in your smile.

Confidence in your You.

You are free to be confident. In the city or the mountains. 😉 Be you.
