I Pray We Will Pause and Worship (Selah)

Lord, I pray you will be with my prayer life today. Pour into me the requests of my soul and the needs of my sweet prayer sisters.

Selah.

O LORD, my heart is not lifted up;

my eyes are not raised too high;

I do not occupy myself with things

too great and too marvelous for me.

But I have calmed and quieted my soul,

like a weaned child with its mother,

like a weaned child is my soul within me.

~ Psalm 131

Oh, Father, let these words wash over us today. How precious is the heart that proclaims this truth in your presence. Lord, nothing in pride or anxiety but in awe and rest.

That these words of David be our words today.

Lord, this month is such a juxtaposition within many of our souls. The abundant giggles of all things Christmas combines with the sorrow, the loss, the stress, the anxiety, the pressure, the memories, the missing piece…

And in the midst of this silent cyclical explosion, we seek to put you first.

Father, may we bow.

Father, may we breathe.

Father, may we behold your face.

Father, may we stay for a moment in our silence locked in our gaze.

Selah.

Jesus, we smile.

Jesus, we catch our breath.

Jesus, we adore you.

Jesus, we remember Who You Are as we pause here before you.

Selah.

Spirit, keep our hearts in this fullness.

Spirit, draw our minds to this peace as the day beckons.

Spirit, soothe our souls with the salve of your eternal presence.

Spirit, utter the quietness of this moment upon the heart of our Father.

Selah.

Lord Jesus, thank you for this sweet moment of prayer. Xoxo
