Father, this morning, a friend declared these simple words to my heart, “Truth is a salve.”

How beautifully poetic these words rang in my soul!

For a salve soothes the deepest of hurts. It does not erase the pain, nor does it magnetize its presence. It simply and deeply soothes.

As if an acknowledgement that something hurts is declared. As if that pain became validated.

Yes, truth is a healing agent! It acknowledges the hurt and brings a validated understanding without minimizing its depth or erasing its existence.

Jesus, thank you for being truth. Thank you for being truth in us. I pray we will engage in you and in your truth. I pray we will speak truth out loud to silence the lies that overwhelm our souls. I pray we will share truth (with your presence of love) to the ear ready to hear. Lord, as you are truth, I pray we will be truth, for you are in us.

And Holy Spirit we thank you for coming as the Spirit of truth! We thank you for speaking in us “all the truth.” Oh, how I love that!”
