What is Prayer

Prayer is Jesus. Think about that for a minute. Without Jesus, prayer is empty and vain. With Jesus, prayer is an entrance gate to the very heart of God Above.

The moment you place your faith in Jesus Christ, the moment you believe in your heart that God has risen Christ from the dead, the moment you confess with your mouth that Jesus was buried and Risen again you are saved. (Romans 10:9-13)

This truth is Scripture. It is foundational Scripture. And it is the only truth that will open wide the door for you to get to pray. Yes, prayer is Jesus.

Do you know Him? Have you placed your faith in Jesus Christ. If yes, then, Friend, you have already begun your path of communication with God through Christ Jesus. If not, are you interested in meeting the very One who knows you and loves you more than life itself?

Learn more about Jesus here.

My request for each of us today is this, will we purpose to talk with Jesus today?

The beautiful thing about having full access to the ears of God as a child of God filled with the Spirit of God because of the Son of God (shout of hallelujah right here!!) is the fact that there are no rules in when or how we converse with Him.

Talk to Him as you are/where you are.

  • Share your thoughts.
  • Share your emotion.
  • Share your questions.
  • Drop your pretense.
  • Drop your bravery.
  • Drop your political correctness.
  • Be real.
  • Be honest.
  • Be the You that He so intricately designed to be You.

He knows you. Talk to Him as if you believe that.

That is prayer.

Let’s Pray for Open Eyes

Lord, You designed truth. You are Truth. In a day where truth is reworked to fit each person in each differing situation, the idea that You are Truth is even more foundationally beautiful!

I pray you will set our eyes on the Rock. I pray you will open our eyes to the Way. I pray you will set our feet on the path that leads to life and life everlasting. Help us to SEE, to fully see, the truth that lays beneath our feet, that goes before us, that encircles all around us, that fills us.

Jesus you are so faithful and true. With all that we are, we say thank you!

Spirit, you are in us, with us, and for us. You breathe truth through us for our own heart to believe and for the open ears of those around us. Thank you!

Father, oh, how we adore you! You gift us with life and with Truth – living Truth! How sweet and loving are your gifts for us! Yes, Father, we adore you!

Lord God, may we lay___________________ at your feet? Father, please open his/her eyes to Truth! Selah.

Will you silence the voices of deceit that are swaying his/her thoughts and actions? Father God, you created us all. In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, you have offered the free gift of eternal salvation upon all of your most precious creation. Dear Father God, I pray_______________ will receive this free gift so that the chains of lies and deceit will be broken, that his/her eyes will be opened, that truth will become the path on which he/she treads!

Yes, Father, we pray for clarity in our vision of truth. We pray this upon ourselves, our families, our leadership, our government, our president (Selah. Oh, Lord, hear the prayers on our hearts…), our world leaders, and upon the influencers of evil that crave to bring down all of the above.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ we pray for Truth to lead, to prevail and to set the captives free.

Amen & Amen!!

Because Jesus

May we celebrate what we have because Jesus.

Because Jesus came we have a choice. No longer confined to the life choices circling us every day. We are offered a choice that settles and calms and rationalizes and comforts and guides and secures all other choices.

Because Jesus came we have life. No longer continuing down the side roads of uncertainty. We are accompanied by a Best Friend down a straight path in which He guides our feet and sets our eyes.

Because Jesus we are free. No longer bound by the various chains of sin and doubt. We are free! Free to life everlasting! Free to Live in the fullness of love and grace day by day! Free to laugh, to absorb the good around us and walk away from the weight that brings us down. We are free to speak the Name above all names. We are free to stand. We are free to proclaim Truth. We are free to share the Way.

We are free to Live Because Jesus!

Lord God,

Oh, how we thank you for You! Thank you for the gifts you so freely and graciously give us. For the gift of salvation, the gift of baptism, the gift of the Spirit, the gift of His fruits, the gift of marriage, the gift of friends, the gift of family, the gift of being a member of the very Body of Christ.

Lord, you have given us so much!

Father, I pray for these gifts that are set before us. Lord, if one of these gifts are sitting before us, yet we have yet to receive it or open it or declare it or use it or enjoy it… Oh, Father, open our eyes today!

I pray, if it be the gifts of salvation or baptism, my friend will give to you their acceptance of your gift this Christmas season. I pray they will choose to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. I pray they will choose to follow you and identify with you in baptism.

I pray that we will determine today to walk in the Spirit. May we relish in His fruit. Not in that we are fake with putting on the image of patience and love and joy, but that we are real in the image of God in us. Help us to understand the presence of the Holy Spirit and how beautifully and powerfully real He is in us!

I pray for the gifts of marriage and of friends and of family. Father God, this differs for each us. Father, hear our cries, tears, prayers, desires, smiles and praises! Hold our hearts in these areas of life. Give us the daily bread we need per “these gifts” and help us to enjoy the day at hand.

And I thank you for allowing us to be a part of the Body of Christ! Lord, how deeply unique we all are. Yet, in your Name we are knit together as intricately as the human body. Each of us so vital, so valued, so loved and so called by You!

I can hardly comprehend your Gifts to us! Selah

Because Jesus is in my heart, my hands are open wide to receive the gifts of today! I lay it, all of it, before you. May my gift be a smile on your heart.

Jesus, I love you!
