Jesus says, I am praying for you.

Jesus says, I am praying for you:

〰️ I’m not praying only for them (his present disciples) but also for those who believe in me because of their word (You!). (v. 20)

〰️ I pray they will be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. I pray that they also will be in us, so that the world will believe that you sent me. (v. 21)

〰️ I’ve given them the glory that you gave me so that they can be one just as we are one(v. 22)

〰️ I am in them and you are in me so that they will be made perfectly one. 〰️ Then the world will know that you sent me and that you have loved them just as you loved me. (v. 23)

I cannot get enough of John 17 this week. Can you tell? Monday’s post. Tuesday’s post!

To imagine Jesus (before entering into his time of prayer in the garden of Gethsemane) pausing to pray for his followers, for you and for me, is partly too big to comprehend.

The image of this truth has overcome my heart. Reading and rereading as if this prayer, these words, are being spoken in power … today.

Oh, but time is eternal in the Spirit of God, is it not? So, truly, I believe when Jesus prayed this day in 33 AD, his prayer stands equally in relevance and power today in 2019 AD.

I want Jesus’ prayer poured over me! I want the promise of God in Jesus and Jesus in God and Them in me and me in Them to be evident!

Then! Then the world will know and the One in Christ will grow!!

Yes, I am overcome with John 17!

Read it!!
